As a satisfied traveler, I recently stayed at a fantastic guesthouse in Aso for a week. The caring owner provided us with invaluable advice for exploring the area and even sold us discounted onsen tickets. The guesthouse was well-organized, clean, and had a relaxed Japanese atmosphere. The spacious room with futon beds was a delight. They also offered a toast and jam breakfast, as well as cheap ramen options. The location was convenient, within walking distance of the train/bus station. I highly recommend this guesthouse!
100% Recommend this hotel.

This cozy guesthouse is conveniently located near the train station and is in a quiet residential area. The rooms are clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and insulated floors to keep your feet warm. The friendly and helpful staff provide valuable information about the region and even cooked for guests one evening. The guesthouse also offers a well-equipped kitchen and serves free toast for breakfast. It's the perfect base for exploring the nearby attractions.
The walls are thin, so it's advisable to bring earplugs to block out any noise.

Free shuttle service: They even had a shuttle service to pick us up and drop us off at the nearby view spot Daikanbo. It felt like having a personal chauffeur!
Cold room at night: The room was a bit chilly in winter, but they provided a fuel-burning heater that helped us stay warm.
